Key Responsibilities:
• Act as the finance lead for digital and customer-focused initiatives, providing analysis, challenge, and insight to optimise a multi-million-pound budget.
• Develop a deep understanding of key business performance metrics, identifying risks and opportunities in customer engagement and commercial decision-making.
• Partner with finance, operations, and customer teams to maximise revenue streams, assessing the financial impact of strategic decisions.
•Support financial assessments of market profitability, ensuring accurate reporting and a clear understanding of business economics.
•Conduct investment appraisals for capital and operational expenditures, including new contracts and renewals, evaluating costs and benefits.
Business Planning & Forecasting
•Take ownership of budgeting and financial forecasting, working with senior stakeholders across finance, commercial, and operational teams.
• Contribute to the long-term strategic financial plan, refining forecasts and assessing business growth opportunities.
• Support stock investment planning in collaboration with commercial teams.
Data, Systems & Process Improvement
•Leverage financial and operational data to enhance efficiency, reporting, and decision-making.
•Work closely with data teams to identify insights and improve financial reporting processes.
•Support the development and optimisation of financial systems to improve business performance.
Financial Reporting & Management Accounting
•Take ownership of key P&L lines and balance sheet areas, ensuring a clear understanding of variances, risks, and opportunities.
•Support the preparation and distribution of management accounts, providing meaningful insights to business leaders.
Financial Compliance & Stakeholder Engagement
•Liaise with auditors at year-end, ensuring smooth completion of financial processes.
•Represent the finance team in internal and external meetings, acting as a key point of contact for financial insights and decision-making.
•Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards and ensure compliance with industry best practices.
What We're Looking For:
•Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with strong commercial finance experience.
•Proven ability to partner with non-finance teams, challenge assumptions, and drive business performance.
•Strong analytical skills, with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling.
•Experience working with financial systems and data tools to drive process improvements.
•Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present financial insights to senior stakeholders.
